Abstract: 

The motivation for this work was to look for simple models where one could perform exactly particular constructions which aimed at capturing certain aspects of holography. In particular I will present an exact formulation of a bosonic chain in terms of Matrix Product States - the simplest version of a tensor network, and a (somewhat formal) recasting of free quantum mechanical particle as realizing basic requirements of holography. The strengths and especially weaknesses of the respective constructions may be instructive for future attempts at making holographic toy models.
