Abstract: 

Knowledge of the supernova (SN) delay time distribution (DTD)—the SN rate versus time that would follow a hypothetical brief burst of star formation—can shed light on SN progenitors and physics. Here, we present new measurements from HST of the DTD from galaxy clusters in the redshift range of z=1.15-1.75. This is the highest redshift range for measurements of SN rate in galaxy clusters yet. During the talk we will cover the importance of the DTD, the observations and analysis of the SN rate in the clusters, and show some preliminary results.
