We are happy to announce that Prof. Amnon Aharony has been selected as the recipient of the position of SigmaPhi Prize

He will be awarded For discovering new universality classes and universal relations near critical points, the dimensionality-shift and physical realizations of the random field model, fractals in physics and percolation, criteria for self-averaging in random systems, and symmetry of the magnetic Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction, during the opening ceremony of the SigmaPhi conference which will take place on 10 July 2023 in Chania (GR).

 

The SigmaPhi Prize is a purely honorary title and was previously awarded to some people of the highest scientific reputation such as G. Parisi (Nobel 2021), I. Proccaccia, R. Metzler, D. Mukamel and S. Ruffo.

 

The SigmaPhi conference has the status of Europhysics Conference conferred by the European Physical Society and currently represents the largest event in the field of statistical physics in Europe and one of the largest worldwide.
