Congratulations to Oren Slone for winning the Clore Scholarship

We congratulate Oren Slone on receiving the Clore scholarship.

Oren’s research investigates the many clues which inform us that the Standard Model of particle physics is incomplete. One of the most interesting clues is the postulated Dark Matter, which is an unknown form of weakly interacting matter which probably comprises 85% of the universe. In his work, together with his supervisor, they focus on a few promising avenues in the search for this new physics. Most recently, they have been trying to understand the theory involved in previously unstudied interactions of Dark Matter. This understanding will be the first step in planning a new experimental setup which may be sensitive to a new area in Dark Matter parameter space and may be able to detect very light weakly interacting particles such as Dark Matter and solar neutrinos. This could potentially change our understanding of these special,  yet undetected particles and the way we think about the building blocks of the universe.

The Clore foundation scholarship is annually awarded to the finest students according to their excellence in studies and achievements in research.
