Dr. Iair Arcavi and Dr. Moshe Ben Shalom win ERC grants

Dr. Arcavi and Dr. Ben Shalom, from the School of Physics and Astronomy, have each received a prestigious ERC research grant from the European Union

Dr. Iair Arcavi and Dr. Moshe Ben Shalom win ERC grants

Dr. Iair Arcavi, of the Astrophysics Department, who joined the School in 2018, has received an ERC Starting Grant to discover and characterize the collisions of neutron stars and the nuclear synthesis that takes place during these events.

 

Dr. Ben Shalom, of the Condensed Matter Physics Department, at TAU since 2017, will use his ERC Starting Grant to discover and develop the next generation of two-dimensional quantum materials.

 

ERC grants are extremely competitive and lucrative. With these new awards, the School of Physics and Astronomy will now have six active ERC grants.
