Congratulations to Erez Cohen for winning the Azrieli Scholarship
Erez is a graduate student at the School of Physics & Astronomy
We congratulate Erez Cohen on his receiving the Azrieli scholarship. Erez’ research is focused on short-range interactions of nucleons (protons and neutrons) inside the nuclei. These interactions are to be studied with the use of accelerated electrons and static light-nuclei targets. His Ph.D research will be based on an experiment to be done using the accelerator at the Thomas Jefferson Laboratory (JLab) in Virginia, USA. In this experiment, electrons will be scattered off Helium-3 and Tritium targets, probing the momentum distribution of nucleons participating in short-range interactions. Studying the nuclear short-correlation behavior of nuclei will have a broad impact on, and applications to, particle and atomic physics, as well as astrophysics.
The Azrieli foundation scholarship is annually awarded to the finest students according to their research and provides them the opportunity to develop as scientists as well as leaders.
