Physics Colloquium

Abstract:

The galaxy distribution encodes important cosmological information beyond the already well-known average densities of matter, radiation, dark energy. However, extracting unbiased constraints from future galaxy surveys will require a detailed account of all the scale-dependencies induced by nonlinear gravitational evolution, galaxy formation and survey selection effects. I will review some of these challenges, along with recent theoretical developments.
