​Abstract:

During the last decade tools to investigate surface ruptures for large continental earthquakes have significantly improved. Field data and space geodesy data are combined to highlight some peculiar earthquake processes for some of the large recent (and less recent) earthquakes and shed some light on the way fault segmentation for large strike-slip faults might be organised.
