June 2019: Berman elected to EMBO

Congratulations to Prof. Judith Berman, Edmond J. Safra member (Life Sciences) who was elected to the European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO).

On 11 June, the organization announced the admission of 56 new members from Europe and abroad, among them Prof. Judith Berman. The new members will be officially added to the organization at a ceremony to be held as part of the organization's annual conference at the end of October 2019. 
 
 

EMBO has more than 1,800 of the world's leading molecular biology researchers. The new members are proposed and elected by existing members, and are involved in initiatives of the organization's board, serve on committees, distribute scholarships and mentor young scientists. The prestigious organization was founded in 1964, publishes five academic journals and holds more than 90 conferences annually.

 

Prof. Berman is the sixth researcher from Tel Aviv University who joined EMBO. Among them are three Edmond J. Safra members from Medicine Faculty, Prof. Gil Ast, Prof. Karen Avraham and Prof. Yossi Shiloh.
