May 2020: Ast, Sharan, Gorfine and Shomron win ISF Precision Medicine grants

As part of the National Program for Digital Health, the Israel Science Foundation (ISF) awarded grants in the field of precision medicine. 

 

Sixteen studies were awarded grants. Among the winning projects two are involving Edmond J. Safra members: Prof. Gil Ast (Medicine) and Prof. Roded Sharan (Computer Science) for their project titled "Elucidating epigenetic mechanisms that drive autism spectrum disorder and tailoring a personalized treatment". Another grant was awarded to Prof. Malka Gorfine (Statistics) and Prof. Noam Shomron (Medicine) together with their TAU colleagues (Prof. Hendler, Medicine, and Prof. Wolf, Computer Science) for their joint project titled "Dynamic risk prediction model for post trauma psychopathology based on multi-scale and multi-layered profiling of stress response".  

 

This was the second year for the precision medicine initiative. The winners join Edmond J. Safra members Profs. Avraham, Geiger (Medicine) and Shamir (CS), who won the precision medicine grants in the first year.
